摘要: Sepsis is an extreme host response to infection that leads loss of organ function and cardiovascular integrity. Mortality from sepsis on the rise. Despite more than three decades research clinical trials, specific diagnostic therapeutic strategies for are still absent. The use LFQ- TMT-based quantitative proteomics reported here study plasma proteome in five mouse models sepsis. A knowledge-based interpretation data reveals a protein network with extensive connectivity through documented functional or physical interactions. individual proteins all have role known be extracellular. changes abundance observed most part same directionality (increased decreased abundance) as literature human This has been named Plasma Proteome Signature (PPSS). PPSS quantifiable molecular readout can supplant current symptom-based approach used diagnose type sepsis, its progression, intervention important step advancing our understanding discovering evaluating new strategies.
