摘要: Abstract The objectives of the study were to investigate age-associated variations plasma skatole and androstenone levels their relationship testosterone, estrone sulphate thyroxine in from entire male pigs. Effect photoperiod on boar taint compounds was also investigated. In total, 47 uncastrated crossbred pigs, siblings 13 litters, divided into three groups: Control group (natural photoperiod), Spring/Summer (artificial spring conditions) Autumn/Winter autumn conditions). Blood samples collected every 2 weeks at average age 8 until slaughter 20–24 weeks. Neither nor affected by photoperiod. Skatole concentrations varied with high 8–10 early increase related no other investigated compounds. At older age, positively correlated ( r =0.30; 20 age), testosterone =0.43 0.54, respectively; 22 age) negatively =−0.44; =−0.72; 24 age). Plasma approximately 14 not younger correlation coefficients ranging 0.34 0.79. Negative correlations between found ages 16, 18 =−0.42, −0.35 −0.30, respectively). fat slaughter, highly =0.68; P
