摘要: Neuroimaging has enabled us to address questions about the timing and origin of brain abnormalities in schizophrenia. First episode longitudinal computed tomography (CT) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies schizophrenic patients have shown that are present at onset psychosis non-progressive. Such findings support idea schizophrenia is a developmental rather than degenerative condition. Furthermore, presence ventriculomegaly diminished hemispheric asymmetry familial schizophrenics those their relatives who appear be transmitting disorder, implies involvement genes controlling neurodevelopment. However, genetic factors do not fully account for development schizophrenia; early environmental insults such as obstetric complications also important may interact with predisposition. Brain continues postnatally profound maturational events occur adolescence adulthood. Magnetic spectroscopy (MRS) allow investigation biochemistry living being used explore role determining psychosis.
