摘要: The adenovirus terminal protein precursor functions as a primer for the initiation of virus DNA replication by covalently binding first nucleotide in chain. It remains attached to 5'-ends and is cleaved during virion maturation. gene encoding maps within 7-kilobase region genome, which specifies multiple mRNA species. We have determined location, this region, coding sequences aligning partial amino acid sequence predicted from sequence. open translational reading frame between coordinates 23.4 28.9 on genome contains majority protein. derives COOH terminus Using information, site covalent attachment has been determined. This also corresponds that binds dCMP, nascent synthesized vitro. does not overlap N-group mutants mapped. suggest these define protein, other than replication.
