Leucine-rich diet alters the eukaryotic translation initiation factors expression in skeletal muscle of tumour-bearing rats

摘要: Cancer-cachexia induces a variety of metabolic disorders on protein turnorver, decreasing synthesis and increasing degradation. Controversly, insulin, other hormones, branched-chain amino acids, especially leucine, stimulate modulate the activity translation initiation factors involved in synthesis. Since tumour effects are more pronounced when associated with pregnancy, ehancing muscle-wasting proteolysis, this study, influence leucine-rich diet caused by cancer were investigated.
