摘要: Purpose: We prospectively evaluated the predictive value of therapy-induced reduction tumor glucose use for subsequent response and patient survival in patients with gastric cancer treated by preoperative chemotherapy. Patients Methods: Forty-four consecutive locally advanced carcinomas were studied positron emission tomography analog fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG-PET) at baseline 14 days after initiation cisplatin-based polychemotherapy. On basis a previous study, FDG uptake more than 35% was used as criterion metabolic response. The FDG-PET correlated histopathologic completion therapy (< 10% viable cells resected specimen) survival.
