摘要: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) represent a newly identified class of non-protein-coding approximately 22 nt small RNAs which play important roles in multiple biological processes by degrading targeted mRNAs or repressing mRNA translation. Here we present an expressed sequence tag (EST)-based combined approach for the detection novel porcine miRNAs. This was initiated using previously known miRNA sequences from Homo sapiens (human) and Mus musculus (mouse) to blast databases Sus scrofa (pig) EST. A total 65 new miRNAs were detected following range filtering criteria. Using these potential sequences, further obtained publicly available database NCBI 48 586 target hits software RNA hybrid. So far, compared human mouse, fewer (only 54 miRNAs) species. These their targets pig have been run through miRHelper yield data that may help us better understand possible role regulating growth development pigs. findings suggest EST analysis is good alternative strategy identifying candidates, other genes.
