摘要: Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is a highly glycosylated cell surface protein that overexpressed in variety of human tumors and has been used as tumor marker for disease progression colorectal cancer patients. Recently, CEA target vaccine therapy against advanced CEA-expressing colonic adenocarcinomas. Previous reports have found elevated serum levels patients with cervical cancer, although this did not correlate progression. In study, biopsy specimens from normal histology, intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) grades 1 to 3, squamous carcinoma (SCC), adenocarcinoma were evaluated expression by immunohistochemistry using the monoclonal antibody COL-1. Staining intensity was graded on scale 0 3 correlated histologic diagnoses. staining significantly increased high-grade lesions (CIN III SCC) compared mucosa CIN I or II ( P r = 0.71). most between 2 3. Only 7 primary adenocarcinomas expressed CEA. 10 high their had We thus shown lesional increases SCC without elevations CFA. may be useful diagnostic tool identifying those at risk progressive neoplasia.
