摘要: For transport of entomopathogenic nematodes to the user, developmentally arrested dauer juveniles (DJ) are mixed with inert carriers at high density. If quiescence is not induced, DJ will quickly lose energy reserves and die. To induce can be moderately desiccated. This study investigated desiccation tolerance by measurement water activity ( a w -value) tolerated 50% populations (WA50) different Steinernema species strains. were tested or without prior adaptation stress. Stress conditions produced exposure various concentrations poly(ethylene glycol) 600. Significant differences in recorded between strains species, but, except for abbasi, within one species. Without stress conditions, most tolerant was S. carpocapsae (WA50 = 0.836) followed abbasi (0.86). Adaption an -value 0.95 48 h increased 0.68 0.66, respectively. The least kraussei, glaseri ethiopiense. Tolerance would allow storage that inhibit growth bacteria but fungi. Analysis only 10% population indicated potential genetic improvement selective breeding carpocapsae, arenarium reach levels also fungal growth.
