Correlation of epidermal growth factor receptor and c-erbB2 oncogene product to known prognostic indicators of colorectal cancer.

摘要: Both epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFr) and the oncogene product of c-erbB2 have been shown to be expressed by human malignancies, in some cases relate clinical outcomes. This study investigates correlation between presence these proteins known prognostic indicators colorectal cancer. Indirect immunoperoxidase staining 32 freshly frozen surgical specimens revealed an overall expression EGFr 43% 38%, respectively. A significantly higher rate was found tumours more advanced stage (Dukes C D), poor differentiation those exhibiting vascular lymphatic invasion. The protein did not correlate with any variables. Expression molecules appeared independent positive for both receptors occurred only 19% cases. may play a future role as tool
