摘要: Abstract Urbanization is viewed as endangering more critical habitats of global value and ubiquitous than any other human activity affecting biodiversity, climate, water nutrient cycles at multiple scales. Spatial landscape planning can help create alternative urban patterns protecting ecosystems thus supporting the provision needed services they provide. While many approaches exist to make values nature explicit, new tools are interpret vast quantity information in an integrated assessment support planning. In this study, we present a spatial decision tool PALM (“Potential Allocation development areas for sustainable Land Management”) aimed allocation zones. A GIS-based MCDA approach was into web-based platform that allows distributing requested amount within selected perimeter based on ecosystem locational factors. The short running time different user-defined scenarios exploring consequences tradeoffs between decisions interactive way, making it useful discussions participatory processes. results application case study region Switzerland show integrating when particularly effective peripheries, where building zones shifted towards centers securing productive soils located around cities. This shift from peripheries considering less pronounced rural areas, provide fewer services. However, also needs be embedded right policy context: Ecosystem only traded-off factors if ranges across municipalities. Whereas transparent flexible offers suitable beginning process, discuss further needs.
