摘要: Abstract Meat consumption is becoming one of the most relevant sectors in terms environmental impacts globally. In Brazilian Amazon effects this process are seen ongoing deforestation and land-use change (about 65% can be linked to cattle ranching). One main causes trend increased efficiency transport infrastructure: along both sides Inter-Oceanic highway, about 50 km rainforest have been converted ranching. 2011 highway was finalized also on Peruvian side: region Madre de Dios neighboring Amazon, therefore risk that area will undergo same kind development. The objective analysis highlight contribution global meat demand as cause land use region. This focus has chosen since, nowadays, magnitude ranching activities hidden by more evident damaging (e.g., gold mining), its near-future underestimated. By starting with investigating preliminary signals local process, serve basis for comprehensive future works data, including monitoring campaigns biodiversity GHG emissions. Land-use is, thus, analyzed through FAO data acquired remote sensing carried out within other projects. production outcomes obtained from FAOSTAT database. integrating trends regional emerging trading effects, which incremented new it possible convergence locally influence Dios.
