摘要: Emerging evidences from preclinical and clinical studies have shown that epidermal growth factor (EGF) has some effectiveness against endogenously arising carcinogenesis. Functional +61A>G polymorphism (rs4444903 A>G) in the promoter region of EGF gene was observed to modulate levels, thus affecting susceptibility gastrointestinal cancer; but individually published showed inconclusive results. The aim this Human Genome Epidemiology (HuGE) review meta-analysis derive a more precise estimation association between cancer risk. A literature search Pubmed, Embase, Web Science Chinese BioMedical databases inception through July 2012 conducted. Twelve were assessed with total 2868 cases 4278 healthy controls. When all eligible pooled into meta-analysis, results G allele GG genotype might increase risk cancer. In stratified analysis by types, displayed significant correlations increased esophageal We also found carrier (GG+AG) colorectal However, did not appear an influence on gastric susceptibility. Results current indicate cancers. Nevertheless, further are needed determine whether genetic associations significant.
