摘要: Chemical diagrams are an important means of conveying information in chemistry and biosciences to students, starting as early secondary school. But even electronic teaching material, commonly given bitmap graphics leaving them inaccessible for visually impaired learners. We present end-to-end solution making these Web accessible, by employing image analysis solutions recognise semantically analyse diagrams, regenerating a format that makes amenable assistive technology. provide software tools allow readers interactively engage with exploring step-wise on different layers, enabling aural rendering their individual components together highlighting magnification assist low vision or learning difficulties. Our technology builds open standards, supporting number computing platforms, browsers, screen readers, is extensible other STEM subjects.
