摘要: Abstract The total flux, distribution and fate of Cu, Cr, Cd, Zn, Mn Pb were studied in Sepetiba Bay, Rio de Janeiro, SE Brazil. Metal contamination the bay is same order magnitude as historically contaminated areas Europe North America, inspite recent (15–20 years) area. estimated metal fluxes to tons per year are: 2.7; 10.9; 0.9; 11.5; Mn, 20.4; Pb, 4.5. For most metals, transport mainly by suspended particulate matter; for Cd Cr 90 47% flux was dissolved forms. Most metals transported matter weakly bound Analysis bottom sediments showed two groups relation their source bay. Manganese Cu higher concentration along southern parts bay, showing no correlation with other probably being derived from natural sources. present at concentrations depositional area fluvial sediments, northern part are industrial urban
