摘要: Coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) is routinely used to restore blood flow diseased cardiac muscle due coronary disease. The patency of conventional grafts decreases with time, which thrombosis and formation neointima. A primary cause failure the mechanical damage inflicted during harvesting, including removal surrounding tissue accompanied by high pressure saline distension overcome vasospasm (both causing considerable trauma). aim this study was compare ultrastructural features human saphenous vein (SV) harvested conventionally prepared using an atraumatic 'no-touch' harvesting technique introduced Souza (1996). results showed a better preservation lumenal endothelium medial vascular smooth (SM) in versus grafts. 'fast' (within 30 min) response SM cells noted where both cell division apoptosis were observed. It concluded that 'preserved' nature aortocoronary SV renders them less susceptible thrombotic atherosclerotic factors than conventionally. These are suggested contribute improved early rate described no-touch harvesting.
