摘要: Morphologic and biochemical analyses were performed to compare normal skin mature scars hypertrophic scar keloid. Correlation of morphologic findings with profiles the samples proved feasible enlightening. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used characterize architectural arrangement collagen fibers in scars. Cultured fibroblasts from each specimen also examined SEM. A profile tissue constructed, characterizing component by sequential molecular sieve ion exchange chromatography determine a) degree intermolecular crosslinking, b) amino acid analysis, c) levels lysyl oxidase activity. Results indicate that fiber bundles display a decreasing level organization as clinical abnormality increases, this structural gradient correlates crosslinking same tissue--normal being highly crosslinked, keloid successively less so. Surprisingly, enzyme is or elevated despite relative lack crosslinking. Amino content uniform for all specimens. examination cultured specimens demonstrated three phenotypically distinctive whose numerical volumetric proportions correlated origin.
