摘要: BACKGROUND Electroporation is a process that causes transient increase in the permeability of cell membranes. It can be used to intracellular concentration chemotherapeutic agents tumor cells (electrochemotherapy; ECT). A clinical study was initiated determine if this mode treatment would effective against certain primary and metastatic cutaneous malignancies. group six patients, three with malignant melanoma, two basal carcinoma, one adenocarcinoma, were enrolled study. The administered two-step process. METHODS Each patient received 10 unit/m2 dose bleomycin intravenously at 1 1.5 units/minute. This followed by eight 99 μsec pulses an amplitude 1.3 kV/cm directly tumors 5 15 minutes after completely infused. Pulses injection 1% lidocaine solution around site. RESULTS Two melanoma patients had objective responses. In these five treated decreased size, responded. Untreated displayed continued growth. Objective responses observed both carcinoma (BCC) patients. One partial tumors. other four BCCs respond completely, remaining partially. Patients breast adenocarcinoma showed complete nodules ECT. All tolerated well no residual effects from electric pulses. CONCLUSIONS ECT local majority treated. results thus far are very encouraging being continued. Cancer 1996;964-71.
