摘要: The growth of human tumors and development metastases depend on the de novo formation blood vessels. new vessels is tightly regulated by specific factors that target receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). Vascular endothelial factor (VEGF) Flk-1/KDR RTK have been implicated as key cell-specific signaling pathway required for pathological angiogenesis, including tumor neovascularization. Inhibition VEGF kinase blocks vessel in growing tumors, leading to stasis or regression growth. Advances understanding biology angiogenesis led several therapeutic modalities inhibition pathway. A number these are under investigation clinical studies evaluate their potential treat cancers.
