摘要: Abstract Quaternary bismuthate glasses with compositions xB2O3–(80 − x) Bi2O3–15SiO2–5TeO2 have been prepared by melt-quench technique. X-ray diffraction studies were performed to ascertain the amorphous nature of samples. The density, molar volume and crystalline decrease increase in B2O3 content whereas glass transition temperature shows reverse trend. Raman FTIR spectra studied indicate that has found exist form BO3 trigonal BO4 tetrahedral structural units vibrations corresponding these content. SiO2 is present SiO4 TeO2 TeO3 units. Bismuth plays role network modifier [BiO6 octahedra] as well former [BiO3 pyramids] for all compositions. optical band gap energy calculated from fitting both Mott Davis’s model Hydrogenic excitonic experimentally observed absorption spectra.
