摘要: Abstract In this pilot study, we investigated levels of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in the adipose tissues two free-ranging terrestrial carnivores from Croatia sampled 2010 2011: brown bear (Ursus arctos; N = 32) grey wolf (Canis lupus; N = 29). Concentrations ∑OCPs ΣPCBs ranged 0.45 to 4.09 ng g−1 lipid mass (lm) 0.93 8.52 ng g−1 lm bear, 1.18 5.67 ng g−1 lm 2.68 48.9 ng g−1 lm tissues, respectively. PCBs were dominant accounting for over 72% total analyzed persistent organic pollutants (POPs). The sum six indicator non-dioxin-like (Σ6IndNDL PCBs) made up 60–93% 58–85% congener concentrations bears wolves, Although measured parameters significantly higher wolves than bears, contaminant profiles species similar, with γ-HCH, HCB, β-HCH DDE as major OCP contaminants, PCB-153 > PCB-180 ≈ PCB-170 > PCB-138 congeners. hexachlorocyclohexanes (ΣHCHs) 8 toxicologically relevant dioxin-like (Σ8ToxDL was males females bear. ΣDDTs, ΣOCP, ΣPCBs, Σ6IndNDL PCBs, (ΣToxNDL positively correlated lipid content wolf. OCPs low normal large mammals.
