摘要: One of the few spontaneous gliomas in inbred animals, VM/Dk murine astrocytoma (SMA), has seen limited use. Previously restricted to an vivo system, SMA was only transplantable intracerebrally (IC) using nonquantifiable suspensions normal brain and tumor tissue. Prior attempts at establishing permanent tumorigenic cell lines have not succeeded; tumorigenicity lost during serial vitro passage. We established three different culture from a serially IC-transplanted two tumors that arose intraperitoneal (IP) injection SMA. In contrast previous cultures SMA, all five are IC but subcutaneously (SC) as well. Astrocytic feature present varying degrees, evidenced by morphology, response dibutyryl cyclic AMP (db-cAMP), presence neuroglial fibers: None express CNPase, S-100, or GFA proteins significant amounts. P560, highly possessing most astrocytic features lines, extends use system mouse strain allowing quantitative experiments.
