摘要: Abstract Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common category of liver cancer, representing 83% all cases. The intention present investigation was designed to explore defensive efficiency limonin against N-nitrosodiethylamine (DEN, 200 mg/kg) induced phenobarbital promoted experimental hepatocellular in male Wistar albino rats. Hepato carcinonogen DEN-treated rats showed an elevated level HCC marker enzyme alpha-fetoprotein, enhanced lipid peroxidation due oxidative stress and free radical formation. In parallel, there a drastic decline antioxidant enzymes induction DEN Group II animals. Treatment with limonin, its pharmacological potential (AFP), diminished status brought back near standard level. addition, histopathological analysis also carried out mark pathological alterations. animals, severe lesions cirrhosis cells were noted. Limonin administration establishes anticancer activity by totally refurbishing smashed hepatocytes III Our study strongly put forward that has excellent therapeutic property DEN-induced hepatocarcinogenesis suppressing LPO mediated radicals generation through modulating antioxidants defense mechanism.
