摘要: Background. Proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), a proliferation marker, epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), glycoprotein that plays role in tumorigenesis by binding the mitogenic factor, and P-glycoprotein, mdr gene product, are considered to be of prognostic relevance different tumor types. Parameters allow prediction course disease colorectal cancer would aid development improved treatment strategies. Methods. Immunohistochemical staining was performed on paraffin-embedded sections 82 adenocarcinomas 18 lymph node metastases. EGFR P expression evaluated semiquantitatively; PCNA analyzed quantitatively. Results. An inverse relationship between percentage PCNA-positive cells survival times could demonstrated, differed significantly among quartiles (P < 0.02). The median range primary tumors metastases were similar. extent also revealed significant differences concerning times; patients with more than 50% stained had poorer prognosis those less cells. P-glycoprotein found have no influence survival. Conclusions. Knowledge especially helpful deciding whether treat localized further because adjuvant chemotherapy affects mainly dividing should, therefore, successful high proliferative activity.
