摘要: Abstract Background/Aims: Based on genetic analysis of variants obtained around the world, three genotypes hepatitis delta virus have been defined. Hepatitis associated with different disease patterns and geographic distributions. To determine prevalence in northeast Spain (Catalonia) correlation transmission routes clinical disease, we studied nucleotide divergence consensus sequence HDV RNA from 33 patients chronic (24 were intravenous drug users nine had no risk factors), four acute self-limited infection. Methods: Serum was amplified by polymerase chain reaction technique a fragment 350 nucleotides (nt 910 to 1259) directly sequenced. Results Genetic showed high degree conservation among sequences (93% mean). Comparison these those derived areas pertaining I, II III, mean identity 92% genotype 73% 61% III. At amino acid level (aa 115 214), 87% 63% 56% Conserved regions included editing domain, carboxyl terminal 19 acids antigen polyadenylation signal viral mRNA. Conclusions: isolates are exclusively independently route type No subgenotypes found, suggesting that origin infection our geographical area is homogeneous.
