摘要: The majority of lung adenocarcinomas express the lineage-specific thyroid transcription factor-1 (TTF-1). We recently reported that in a subset TTF-1 gene is amplified. Although prognostic significance expression has been previously investigated, amplification not established. studied 89 consecutive patients with treated by surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital between 1997 1999 performed immunohistochemical analysis for fluorescence situ hybridization amplification. investigated associations clinical–pathological characteristics, expression, overall survival. was categorized as high (48%), low (24%) or absent (28%). amplified 7% cases. Patients had significantly better outcome than those (median survival times 72.4, 77.8 30.5 months, respectively, P= 0.002). In contrast, worse if time 39.5 versus 87.5 months). multivariate analysis, improved independently predicted combination no (P < 0.001). adenocarcinoma, predictor good outcome. tend to have prognosis
