摘要: In this chapter we review eight commonly used rat brain tumor models and their application for the development of novel therapeutic diagnostic modalities. The first three tumors that will discuss were induced by repeated injections methylnitrosourea (MNU) to adult rats. 9L gliosarcoma has been widely provided important information relating biology therapy. T9 glioma, although not generally recognized, was probably still is same as 9L. Both these arose in Fischer rats can be immunogenic syngeneic This must taken into consideration when therapy studies, especially if survival endpoint. C6 glioma extensively a variety but since it an outbred Wistar rat, any inbred strain, its potential evoke alloimmune response serious limitation. F98 RG2 (D74) gliomas both chemically administering ethylnitrosourea (ENU) pregnant rats, progeny which developed tumors. They are either weakly or non-immunogenic have invasive pattern growth uniform lethality. makes them particularly attractive test new avian sarcoma virus-induced tumors, continuous cell line derived from one designated RT-2, useful studies de novo induction requirement. These also limits usefulness studies. CNS-1 MNU Lewis rat. It infiltrative immunogenic, should make experimental neuro-oncology. Finally, BT4C ENU BDIX following cells propagated vitro until tumorigenic clone isolated. evaluate essential recognize, however, limitations each described, depending upon nature study conducted, appropriate model selected.
