摘要: Our understanding of diffuse glioma development and progression has expanded remarkably over the past decade. As genetic alterations responsible for these tumors are identified, molecular models pathogenesis emerging hold great promise to explain biologic mechanisms neoplasms. Although continue evolve remain highly simplified, some that they encompass appear be prognostically useful. Among astrocytic gliomas, age tumor grade most powerful indicators patient survival, however, a wide range variability remains, particularly among low- anaplastic astrocytomas. Recent reports indicate PTEN suppressor gene independent predictors overall survival astrocytoma patients, helping distinguish cases with behavior resembling their more malignant counterparts, glioblastomas. oligodendroglial tumors, 1p 19q chromosome arms have emerged as potentially in vivo chemotherapeutic response, while p16/CDKN2A suggest shorter survival. our improve, through functional analyses identification additional contributors, we will expand capacity effectively prognose patients design rational therapeutic strategies.
