摘要: The INK4a-ARF locus encodes two unrelated proteins that both function in tumour suppression: p16 INK4a and p19 INK4d . Although expression has not been studied central nervous system (CNS) tumours, it reported INK4s inactivation is involved the growth of glioblastomas. This observation relation to other CNS tumours. To understand further role neuroglial growth, mRNAs was by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction RT-PCR 59 which Ki67 labelling indices (LI) were also determined. P16 mRNA found all pilocytic astrocytomas (7/7), grade II III (7/7 4/4, respectively), 4/12 glioblastomas, 8/8 oligodendrogliomas, 10/11 anaplastic 4/7 ependymomas 3/3 but normal brain. In contrast, detected tumours control tissues. associated with a low LI glioblastomas related anaplasia oligodendrogliomas ependymomas. expressing situ hybridization showed widespread cells foci microvascular proliferation. These results strongly support concept regulation proliferation Other cell cycle regulators are yet unknown may play or outgrowth. Further studies required evaluate
